1. Interpretation 

1.1. In the Rules, unless the context clearly indicates a contrary intention, the following words will have the following meanings, and cognate expressions will have corresponding meanings:

1.1.1. “The Act” means the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008;

1.1.2. “Giveaway Rules” means the rules contained herein, as required by Section 36 of the Act;

1.1.3. “Participant” means any natural person who qualifies in terms of clause 4.1 hereof, and who enters into the Airtime Giveaway in terms of clause 4 hereof;

1.1.4. “Promoter” means Tiger Consumer Brands Ltd;

1.1.5. “Airtime Giveaway” means the giveaway to which these rules pertain as run by the Promoter during the Promotion Period; 

1.1.6. “Promotion Period” means the period starts on 19 October 2018 and closes on 30 December 2018, at 12h00 or until stocks last. No late entries will be accepted; 

1.1.7. “Giveaway” means as further described in clause 6. 

2. Introduction

2.1. The Promoter is offering an Airtime Giveaway in terms of which the Participants can purchase a product, in order to receive airtime.

2.2. The Promoter hereby imposes the following Rules in terms of Section 36 of the Consumer Protection Act.

3. The Consumer Protection Act

3.1. The Rules contain certain terms and conditions which may: 

3.1.1. limit the risk or liability of the Promoter, or any relevant third party; and/or

3.1.2. create risk or liability for the Participant; and/or

3.1.3. compel the Participant to indemnify the Promoter or a relevant third party; and/or

3.1.4. serve as an acknowledgement, by the Participant, of certain facts.

4. The Participant

4.1. The Participant must be;

4.1.1. a natural person and may not be a juristic person; 

4.1.2. 18 years or older; and a permanent resident or citizens of the Republic of South Africa

4.2. The Participant, by entering into the Airtime Giveaway, expressly acknowledges that he/she has been given an appropriate opportunity to first read the Rules before entering the Airtime Giveaway and that he/she understands and thereby agrees to the Rules.

4.3. It is a material term of the Airtime Giveaway that all Participants to this Airtime Giveaway participate entirely at their own risk.

4.4. No director, employee, agent or consultant of the Tiger Brands Group of Companies, or their spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members, or the supplier of goods and services in connection with this competition may participate in this competition.

5. How to enter

5.1. To get a share of the R100 000 airtime, participants must purchase any STATUS product and Whatsapp “#respectisearned” to #27791130187. Follow the prompts in order to upload your till slip as proof of purchase. 

5.2. The promoter is not liable for the failure of any technical element relating to this promotional competition that may result in an entry not being successfully submitted.

5.3. Entries which are unclear, illegible or contain errors will be declared invalid

6. The Giveaway

6.1. There are airtime vouchers of various values to be awarded.

6.2. The participants can redeem their airtime voucher by sending “#respectiseraned” on WhatsApp to #27791130187. They will need to follow the prompts in order to upload their till slip as proof of purchase. 

7. The Rules

7.1. The following rules apply to the Airtime Giveaway: -

7.1.1. the Promoter reserves the right to amend these Rules by bringing it to the Participants attention within a reasonable period of time, and may terminate the Airtime Giveaway at any time. In such event, where the Airtime Giveaway is terminated or suspended, all Participants agree to waive any rights that they may have in terms of the Airtime Giveaway and acknowledge that they have no recourse against the Promoter, their employees, agents, partners, suppliers, or sponsors;

8. Giveaway Qualification Rules

8.1. Participation in the Airtime Giveaway constitutes acceptance of the Rules.

8.2. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute the giveaway with any other giveaway of similar commercial value to the giveaway offered herein, at its sole discretion.

8.5 The Participant by part taking in the promotion consents to his/her personal information to be shared with the Promoter’s employees, contractors or agents for the purpose of promotion and for the purpose of sharing future promotions.
